Ministers support training package for new fatigue laws

The Australian Transport Council (ATC) has unanimously endorsed a training package to support heavy vehicle driver fatigue accreditation. New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia are working toward implementing the national Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue reform on 29 September 2008. Read more »

One year old dealer of the year

Dandenong’s Prestige Hino has been crowned Hino’s Dealer of the Year for 2007 for metropolitan dealerships. At a ceremony for all Hino dealers in Canberra, Prestige Hino was recognised as Hino’s best metropolitan dealership in only its first year of operation.

The award came as Hino recorded its best-ever sales year in Australia. Dealer principal Sam Nixon said he was thrilled to win the award in his dealership’s first year. Read more »

FIRS and ACT rego charges to rise from July


The Australian Government has confirmed that the registration charges for heavy vehicles registered in the ACT and under the Federal Interstate Registration Scheme (FIRS) will increase by 2.3 per cent from 1 July 2008.

The increase will affect about 2,300 heavy vehicles in the ACT and about 8,900 interstate trucks registered under FIRS. Read more »
