Freightliner recall

A recall of Freightliner Argosy trucks has been announced by Daimler Trucks. Some incorrect bolts have been fitted in certain disc brake systems.

The Freightliner models affected are certain Columbia and Century Class trucks. All CL112, CST120, and CL120. manufactured between 1 January 2007 and 19 November 2007have been included in the recall.

It is possible that standard bolts rather than metric bolts may have been used in production to attach the brake caliper to the anchor plate at each wheel assembly. Incorrect bolts may not provide sufficient clamping force between the caliper and another plate, which could in turn lead to reducec brake effectiveness and increased risk of accident.
